The Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding lifetime achievement in Plains anthropological research, teaching, scholarship, and service to the profession.
The award consists of a plaque and recognition at the annual meeting banquet. Nominations must include a vita or resume, a brief synopsis of the nominee's career, contributions to Plains anthropology and the Plains Anthropological Society or Plains Conference, letters of support from others, and a justification statement for the nomination.
The deadline for 2022 DSA nominations has passed. The 2023 Call for Nominations will be announced later this year.
