The purpose of this award is to encourage participation of undergraduate students in the Plains Anthropological Society and its annual meeting. 

Eligibility: Funding is available for 1) individual undergraduate applicants; 2) a collective of undergraduate students; or 3) faculty members who wish to organize transportation or other accommodations for a group of undergraduates attending the conference.

Applicants do not need to present research to be eligible; however, preference will be give to those presenting research or filling an active role at the meeting. All applicants must notify and have the support of their faculty advisor/reference to apply.

Award Amount: Award amounts will vary, with a minimum of $250/recipient. Recipients will receive a check at the conference.

INSTEAD OF AN APPLICATION FORM, PLEASE: write a letter of interest (750 words or less) to the Committee Chair, Dr. Stephen Perkins. In your letter, clearly state who the application is for, your affiliation, the number of students (if a group application), if you will be presenting at the meeting, and your total award request. All applications must also complete a detailed budget in Excel or Google Sheets and send that to the Committee Chair. The budget should include per item rates (e.g. hotel room night rate, daily food allotment) and quantity (e.g., room nights, days for food), along with any notes explaining your calculations.
